Feather Unveils Fast, Paperless Car Insurance for Expats in Europe

Feather  , a Berlin-based insurtech, today launched a fully digital car insurance product aimed at simplifying coverage for expats in Europe. Available in Spain, France, and Germany, the product allows customers to secure insurance in under three minutes, fully online and in English.

By partnering with Allianz, Helvetia, and VHV, Feather offers an end-to-end digital experience, from sign-up to policy management, with immediate proof of insurance. “Buying car insurance has traditionally been painful for expats,” said Rob Schumacher, CEO and co-founder. “Our platform removes that friction and delivers clarity, speed, and transparency.”

The launch marks Feather’s next step in expanding its digital-first portfolio, which already includes health, liability, and business insurance. The European motor insurance market is projected to reach €175.7 billion in 2025, with digital adoption accelerating rapidly.

Feather’s expat-focused approach addresses language barriers and complex local regulations, offering a seamless experience for a traditionally underserved group. The company previously raised $6 million in 2024 to support continental expansion and appointed leaders for its operations in France and Spain.

With car insurance, Feather reinforces its mission to make insurance simple, fast, and human-centered, targeting the growing demand for digital-first solutions across Europe.
